Lynda Carter

 Carter was born in Phoenix as the daughter Juanita (nee Cordova), and Colby Carter. Her mother was born in Mexico, is Mexican, Spanish and French. She is the sibling of Vincent and a brother and Pamela as a sister. Carter has made her television debut on Lew King's Talent Show at age 5. During high school, Carter performed in a band called Just Us. The group played marimba and a conga drum. They also played an acoustic guitar as well as the stand-up bass which was played by another member of the group. Lynda started singing at a local pizza restaurant at the age of 15. [8] She joined her cousins, The Relatives, when she was sixteen. The actor Gary Burghoff was the drummer for the band. The group opened at the Sahara Hotel and Casino lounge in Las Vegas for three months as Carter was not 21 she had to enter through the kitchen.Carter attended Arizona State University. She was voted "Most talented" and decided to venture into the world of music. Carter auditioned in 1970 and sang on the tour of The Garfin Gathering's bandleader Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first appearance together was at the Holiday Inn Chinatown, a San Francisco hotel that had no sidewalk entrance. They performed mostly for hotel guests and hotel staff, who parked their vehicles underground. The Garfin Gathering toured the Nevada "Silver Circuit" and performed shows in many of the state's casino lounges between Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, and Las Vegas. Carter left the Garfin Gathering for acting, and she returned home to Arizona in 1972.
