Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and singer. Beautiful, intelligent and talented actor, she's an model for Asian actors who want to be big stars in Hollywood. In the wake of a number of first appearances in some popular series she achieved fame by joining the crew of the cult comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. It was a moment of fame that led to movie roles, such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same time frame, she played the lead in several flops in the field like Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started to voice prominent characters from animated films such including Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any positive results. A recurring role in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland helped re-establish herself as an established actress. Liu is very careful in selecting her roles in order that she doesn't become the victim of a highly intensely competitive field.
